algonquin bound inn

Where we are located

The last stop before Algonquin Park's West Gate, the Algonquin Bound Inn rests next to Highway 60, just half an hour from Huntsville and less than 5 minutes from the park. With no neighbours, our own private lake and bordering on the park, you are more likely to encounter wildlife like beaver and moose than people. Our lake is home to loons, waterfowl, countless frogs and many other birds and animals adding that nice wilderness touch.

Those looking to explore Algonquin Provincial Park can not get much closer than this. We are only 5 minutes from the West Gate of the park and popular access points such as Canoe Lake or Smoke Lake are only 10 minutes away. Even better, if you prefer to rent your canoe we can have it delivered to any access point along the Highway 60 corridor and beyond.

How to get here

From Toronto

Follow Highway 401 to the Highway 400 North junction. Take Highway 400 north to Barrie, where Highway 11 continues north towards Huntsville. Follow Highway 60 east through Huntsville and past the small village of Dwight and the even smaller community of Oxtongue Lake. Algonquin Bound Outfitters & Inn is the last stop before the Algonquin Park West Gate. Look for us on the right side or south side of the highway about 30 km or 25 minutes from Huntsville, Ontario. Allow about 2 hours and 45 minutes from Toronto.

From Ottawa

Follow Highway 417 west to Highway 17. Continue west past Arnprior and connect to Highway 60 west (either directly at Cobden or through Renfrew). Follow Highway 60 past a series of small communities including Barry's Bay, Madawaska (and our East Gate Store) and Whitney before entering Algonquin Park. Continue another hour or so through the park. Algonquin Bound Inn is located 6 km west of the Algonquin Park West Gate off the south side of Highway 60.
